A Special Post on France

I’m taking part in a link party hosted by Anita at Castles Crowns and Cottages.  This is one of the really fun parts of blogging.  Linking with other writers and sharing our dreams and experiences.

I visited France years ago and long to return.  My journal of wishes and plans is being assembled as I recall my journey there.

Cannes_-_hotel_CARLTON

I stayed at The Carlton in Cannes and it was instant love.

Then a trip to Jean le Pin for Bouillabaisse and more love.

St. Tropez and a fabulous room at Hotel Byblos.  Long walks on the beaches and food so fresh…I still remember the tastes and smells.

We never made it to Paris on that trip, but it’s at the top of my list.  I’ve always dreamed of traveling there with Mr. T.  What a place for romance, exploring and just enjoying life.

And then, there has to be that little side trip to Provence for a month where I can immerse myself in learning more about French cuisine, taking a class or two and renting a country home where other family members can join us.

Dreams do come true and this one will….I do believe, I do believe, I do, I do, I do!!!

Ahhhhh, the Carlton. Perfection in Cannes. Yes, you will get to Provence if you really want to go, and if you rent a villa there it will be one of the best times of your life! Great post.

Ahhhhhh…now I can sit back and read and look at the photos. Melissa, I lived in Nice for a time to study, and it was glorious. Never have I experienced such a sense of freedom as on that trip. I went for one purpose: to support my language studies. Here was a typical day for me:

    1. Walk about two miles to my school via open air market-line streets, eating my way to school.
    2. Four hours of language class from 8:am to noon.
    3. We were then set LOOSE and I walked, shopped, talked…..I did what I do best….TALKED AND SHOPPED!!!!!!

Then after a month, my husband met me. It was pure magic. We then got on the train to Italy, then back up through the southwest of France and then Paris. I never made it to Cannes, but Nice and Antibes and Menton….Oh là là, quel joli voyage.

Your photos are just scrumptuous. THANK YOU FOR JOINING!!!!

Enjoy your “travels” and you know what? DREAMS DO COME TRUE! Anita

    Melissa,
I can see that you love to travel as much as my daughters do. Your photos are fabulous. Aaaahhh, the purple fields with the purple sky made me smile. This picture is so peaceful. Did you take that yourself?

I’m so glad I stopped by today. It’s nice to meet new friends.

I wish I had taken the picture of Provence, but, alas, that will have to wait until I travel there. For now, it is in my memories and dreams. Thank you Sheri! So glad to have a new friend!
