Living on St. Simons Island is a little gift. Each day brings something new.
I’m sitting at my desk, writing this post, peeking out every now and then to gaze at the lovely lagoon that sits on the back of our property.
It is gray and foggy this morning…..but, there is beauty in it nonetheless.
I make out the sound of a cardinal singing its lovely song.
I decide to take a drive to look at some of my favorite places…..and the sun begins to shine through the clouds.
I love the way the sun’s rays create a dappled effect when they filter through one of the many canopy streets that grace this island.
I sometimes forget to be grateful for this amazing place and all it has to offer.
These pictures I share with you are of things that make me stop and say thank you for all of the blessings in my life.
St. Simons Island….my home. The sun shines on me and all that surrounds me now and I am grateful, rain or shine.

Oh Melissa I love your blog so much! I am so happy that I have subscribed and that it arrives automatically! The pictures today did me a lot of good, as it is so cold, grey and rainy here in Karlsruhe, And I was especially happy that you got the “its” right! Much love to you. Margaret

What a beautiful way to begin my day – thank you! Although not fortunate enough to call St. Simons my home, I love to visit there. Your photos this morning gave me a mini visit. Thanks again!

I think the rain is God’s way of making us pause to reflect on what is around us. There is so much beauty around us — especially on Saint Simons that when we’re outdoors we’re doing and not especially thinking. You are so lucky to be a resident but we’re lucky too because we have the opportunity to visit. Have a wonderful day. Have you ready any good books lately??
