There’s still a feeling of muggy, late summer in the air, but the buzz of activity in Coastal Georgia is beginning to make itself known!
On September 19th – 21st we have the annual Shrimp & Grits Festival coming up on Jekyll Island. This is always an event you’ll want to attend. Wander around through the historic district on Jekyll as you taste the various offerings of local chef’s and their “take” on this favorite dish. Entertainment, arts and crafts……family fun on Jekyll! You won’t want to miss it!
And then….the first week in October we’re all excited about the St. Simons Food & Spirits Festival that benefits our local hospice group. What a wonderful way to support a local group that gives to our community in untold ways. There’s a full schedule planned with events you won’t want to miss. Tickets are on sale here: http://saintsimonsfoodandspirits.com/.
Coastal Symphony is gearing up for a fabulous new season that will delight the music lovers all over the area. I’ll be talking with some of the ladies from the Symphony Society on the radio as we share all of the wonderful concerts and events on their schedule for the coming season.
There is never a reason to be bored in Coastal Georgia! So much to plan for and I’ve only touched on the very top of it all with this post. I’ll be featuring more events you’ll want to check out over the next few weeks. A bit of Fall is in the air and the energy is building!

We missed the Shrimp and Grits fest last year but this year is a must. I’ll have my extra battery for the camera all charged up and I’ll be sure to have my good walking shoes. There is so much to look forward to. Busy preparing for our trip!!
