Simple Sundays

I love the music of Yiruma.  It is poignant, romantic and it always calms my soul.  I’m sharing this tune with you today in light of the Valentine’s Day holiday.  If we can only remember to continue these thoughts and feelings of love into our everyday life and stop saving them for one special day…..what a world this would be.  When it comes right down to it, love really is ALL there is.  It is the only thing we can take with us wherever we go, free of charge.  Fill your heart with love this simple Sunday and feel the warmth that will then shine on everyone you see today!  Enjoy!

Simple Sundays

It’s a beautiful Sunday morning here on the island.  Chilly, it is still winter.  I’m sharing a lovely French piece this morning by Gabriel Faure’.  This is the perfect music to quietly begin the day.  Perhaps a moment of silent meditation or a moment to say thank you.  Sunday has always been family day for me.  It’s a special time when we can come together and share a delicious meal and reconnect with each other.  What are your plans today?  Listen to this beautiful music and something will come to you!  Enjoy!

Simple Sundays

I stumbled over this artist and video this past week.  I love the setting with the dandelions, such a feeling of spring!  This is apropos given the unusually cold week we’ve had.  I’ve kept up with everything in spite of a nasty sinus infection.  Ah….the beauty of working on-line from home!  Have a wonderful, restful day and don’t forget to wish on the dandelions!

One of my favorite movies is “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.  Truman Capote’s story of Holly Golightly and her life in New York City has always resonated with me somehow.  I love her vulnerability and her courage to invent herself and express her creativity in ways that may not have been acceptable in the day.  On January 30th we will have the second “Supermoon” of the month.  It’s a new moon, a time for new beginnings, for making new plans, planting and dreaming.  I’m sharing the theme song from the movie, “Moon River” today because it always speaks to my soul.  I hope you enjoy it!

Simple Sundays

On this Simple Sunday I’m sharing work by one of my favorite composers, Claude Debussy.  The playlist includes all of my favorites and then some.  Perfect for relaxing on a quiet Sunday morning.  Pour your coffee and curl up by a warm fire….relax, breathe deeply and enjoy!  Family will be coming later for a delicious meal on a chilly winter’s day.  I love Sundays!

Simple Sundays

On this beautiful Sunday morning I’m so grateful for the journey I am on as a result of this blog.  Doors have opened for me, opportunities and experiences I never, ever dreamed of.  I’m in Gainesville, FL today, getting ready to give a presentation to a group of writers.  Yes, I’m a bit nervous, but I found this song on YouTube by Lea Salonga that really speaks to me.  I think it might just become my theme song!  I’m sharing it with you and hope you’ll enjoy it.  With hope and love to all…..wishing you a day full of journeys and joy!

Simple Sundays

Baby…..It’s COLD outside!  We live in a fairly temperate area on our little island.  Not so today or for the next several days.  I’m surrounded by cold blue skies that remind me of the Midwest or other colder climates.  I’m remembering all of my cold weather preparedness education from bygone years.  Planning to cover plants tonight and tomorrow night as we head down into the 20’s, or so the weather channel says.

I think this weather calls for a fire in the fireplace, a pile of good books and magazines, a bottle of nice red wine, popcorn and blankets!  Cheers to winter!!!  We don’t get a long winter here on St. Simons Island, but the bit we get is just enough for me.  Stay warm and listen to some soothing music with me this morning!

Simple Sundays

We’re home, safe and sound, from our time with family in New Orleans.  Whenever we have the opportunity to gather, I’m always reminded that I am very, very lucky to have such a wonderful family to call my own now.  The song I’m featuring today is short, but so meaningful to me.  I am forever grateful for my life.  2014 is going to be a wonderful new year!  Enjoy!

When you open your inbox and begin this post we’ll be on our way to New Orleans for Christmas!  We cannot wait to be with family and share this wonderful season of giving with them all.  It’s been quite a year for us and we’ve taken the sweet along with the not so.  I’m realizing that the difficult times have a purpose and the good times are to be savored and enjoyed.  I found this Christmas playlist on YouTube.  It was put there by someone known as “Friendly Howie”.  Who ever Howie may be and wherever he may live….I’d like to say thank you.  Beautiful photos of the great city of Prague and music await you when you click on the YouTube icon and then view the video in full screen!
