Simple Sundays

It’s Mother’s Day!  I wish all mother’s a wonderfully happy day filled with family time.  Before your day gets going take the time to pour a cup of coffee or tea, relax and listen to beautiful music.  I found this video and loved it.  I hope you’ll enjoy it as well.

Simple Sundays

Total relaxation courtesy of “Liquid Mind” this fine Sunday morning.  Let the music be absorbed as you sit quietly, breathing in and out….allowing spirit to speak deep in the silence of your mind.  If you’re lucky enough to live near the beach and can download this on your iPod or other device, this is perfect for sitting at water’s edge and experiencing the amazing flow of the waves as they come in and out, so effortlessly.  We can learn, from nature, the lesson of living in a state of acceptance of repetition, of letting go and listening for guidance.  Music like this recording is such a powerful guide…..please enjoy!

Simple Sundays

This is completely new for me, but I love this song.  I watched Oprah’s new show “Prime” on here OWN network with Mr. T the other night and we both became enchanted with Pharrell Williams, his intellect, wisdom and his insight, not to mention his talent.  AND, we love his top selling song “Happy”.  I’ve gotten to where I’ll listen to this in the morning’s and it lifts my spirits.  So….I’m sharing it with you this morning!  I hope you love it and find the Oprah interview on YouTube!  It’s good to be happy!

Simple Sundays

I’m sharing one of my favorite classical piano pieces today.  Scenes from Childhood by Robert Schumann is so light, carefree and springlike!  I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I always do.  Get out and enjoy nature today…..breathe deeply and feel the connection that brings us all together!

Simple Sundays

One of the beauties of blogging is that you can write posts ahead of time and schedule them for the date you’d like them to appear.  Since I’m in Mobile, Alabama this weekend at the annual “Daddy’s Girls’ Weekend” writer’s conference speaking about the art of blogging, it was necessary for me to get this post ready prior to leaving so I had no worries while away on the trip.  I’m sure I’m having a great time….lol!  I love where this work takes me, how it’s growing and all of the possibilities for being creative, sharing and helping others make their dreams come true!

Here’s some lovely, relaxing music for you to enjoy today!  I’m on the road heading back to St. Simons and my family.  Have a glorious Sunday!

Simple Sundays

Sunday always seems like the end of the week instead of the beginning to me!  It is termed the “seventh day”, yet on any calendar you’ll see that it is, in fact, the first day of the week.  I like the idea of Sunday being a day of rest, a time for family and friends to enjoy time together.  Whether you share a meal at home, go to your favorite restaurant, take a picnic to the beach or any place you love, Sunday is a day of sharing and togetherness.  I found this lovely collection of relaxing music for you to begin your day.  Pour a cup of coffee, put your feet up and just let the time pass as you listen.  Music always sets the tone for the day in my life.  Whether it is the music of nature as I listen to the birds awakening and beginning their songs or it’s soothing music such as this.  Music is such an important part of life!  So enjoy and have a wonderful day…..whatever you do!

Simple Sundays

On this Sunday, the day before the wearing of the green, I’m sharing a lovely piece by Secret Garden entitled “Hymn To Hope”.  We decided that we’ll celebrate the birthday of our precious rescue Wheaton Terrier, Murphy, on the 17th since he’s an Irish dog with an Irish name and we have no idea when his actual birthday is.  I like to begin each Sunday thinking of everything I’m thankful for and Murphy is definitely on my list of blessings.  He is one of the greatest gifts we’ve ever received.  So as you start the beginning of a new week say thank you for everything that brings you joy and take a moment just to be silent and soak it all in.  Life is a wonderful journey and each day a new beginning.   Have a blessed Sunday and don’t forget to wear your green tomorrow!

Simple Sundays

One week from tomorrow we’ll be seeing a bit of the green as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!  I love beautiful Celtic music and stumbled over this recording from Scotland. It’s a bit haunting and bittersweet, but so beautiful.  I’m sharing it today for you to listen, relax and enjoy.  I’ll be making a special meal for dear friends later today so a morning of relaxation is important!  What will you do to enjoy the day and share the magic of a peaceful Sunday?  Whatever it is, I wish you joy!

Simple Sundays

I’m featuring a beautiful symphony by Joseph Haydn this morning.  Mr. Haydn has been referred to as the “Father of the Symphony” by musical historians.  His works are lively and perfect for beginning a Sunday.  I’ll be planning what to plant in my vegetable garden as well as which flowers go and which stay as Spring begins to makes its appearance here on the island.  Warm croissants with lemon curd and a mug of steaming hot coffee are by my side as well as my trusty planning notebook.  I love Sunday’s, dinner with family, time together and time to reflect as I begin my day.  Enjoy!

Simply Sunday

I enjoy soothing classical music, especially on the weekend.  There is nothing better than pouring a cup of strong coffee and sitting in a comfy chair to listen to music that inspires and uplifts….or music that simply calms the soul.  I’m sharing “Meditation” by Tchaikovsky today, the great Russian composer who wrote such beautiful music.  Sit back, close your eyes and relax as you listen.  Wishing you all a simple day filled with love and so many reasons to say thank you!
