Have you heard of the Bella Italia club here on St. Simons Island?  Founded by Mark Gagliano, the wine guy, and his buddy Sal Cenicola of local pizza fame, this club is growing and thriving.  I spoke with Mark and club president, Joanne DeVincenzo about the club, it’s activities and how it’s plans for the future.  Want to play Bocce ball?  This is the group.  They meet every Sunday around noon at the tennis court area near Epworth for a high spirited match!  Listen to our conversation, you might find yourself wanting to join!

What a pleasure to speak with my dear friend, Judith Paixao, genius behind Bermuda Sea Glass Jewelry.  Judith is holding another of her grand “salons” at Glynn Visual Arts here on St. Simons Island.  You can visit her, put your own design for a beautiful piece of jewelry featuring sea glass and other objects, even a treasured heirloom of your own to be incorporated into a piece to pass down for years to come.  Judith will help you with your design, then make the one of a kind piece for you.  Listen in as Judith talks about her story, her design process and more!

I enjoyed a great conversation with John Bauser, new director of Glynn Visual Arts.  We discussed all of the exciting events upcoming as well as the move and reorganization of what was GAA to GVA.  We are blessed in Glynn County to have so many talented artists who work in so many different mediums as well as the support of a great organization like Glynn Visual Arts!

I remember when I attended high school a teacher always appeared who was different from the rest.  She loved her work and shared her enthusiasm with students who quickly “got it”, never forgetting the imprint such a teacher left on their lives.  I talked with Dr. Susan McLemore on the radio this week.  Dr. Mac, as students call her, is such a teacher.  She is passionate about her work, encouraging students to turn on to literature and writing, inspiring them to go for greater heights, to celebrate their individuality.  Listen in on an interesting and delightful conversation!  Skylar has Dr. McLemore next semester.  It’s her senior year in high school and I cannot imagine a better way to end a great time than taking this wonderful teacher’s writing workshop!
